Masters Academy International Names World-Level Figure Skating Official Wendy Enzmann as Director of Figure Skating

ISU judge and former educator brings 50+ years of skating excellence and unique developmental expertise to academy’s figure skating program

STOW, MA. – Masters Academy International (MAI) today announced Wendy Enzmann as Director of Figure Skating, bringing unprecedented international officiating expertise and a deep understanding of youth development to the academy’s figure skating program. Enzmann, who serves as an ISU (World) Judge, Technical Controller, and Referee while bringing 23 years of early education experience, will lead MAI’s comprehensive figure skating program when the academy opens in September 2026.

“Wendy’s extraordinary combination of world-level skating expertise and educational background creates a unique foundation for our figure skating program,” said Peter Masters, Co-Founder and Director of Athletics at MAI. “Her experience judging at the World and Olympic level, coupled with her decades teaching young students, positions her perfectly to develop skaters who excel both technically and personally.”

Enzmann brings over 50 years of figure skating experience as a former National and International competitor in singles, pairs, and synchronized skating—including her time with the legendary Haydenettes, 31-time U.S. National Champions and current World Silver Medalists. Her official appointments include ISU (World) Judge for Singles, Pairs and Synchronized Skating; ISU Singles Technical Controller; International Pairs Technical Controller; and ISU Referee. She serves as a World and International Team Leader for U.S. Figure Skating and has held positions on the organization’s Board of Directors and multiple committees.

“We need to give every student the ability to reach their goals by educating the whole person, in the classroom and on the ice,” said Enzmann. “I’m inspired by every student’s joy when they have mastered something new, overcome a personal challenge, and created relationships and connections with others in their community.”

Her 23 years as a lead teacher in early education provides invaluable insight into the developmental needs of student-athletes, and first-hand knowledge of how play becomes passion, and how passion fuels purpose. This background shapes her approach to pouring that critical foundational for young skaters, where technical skill-building must be balanced with social and emotional development.

“For our student-athletes, we incorporate the four foundations in the Masters Bracket into day-to-day training,” Enzmann explained. “The Figure Skating program at MAI will have a positive environment focused on the social and emotional development for each student enrolled. These athletes will build long-lasting relationships and be part of a figure skating team who are passionate and enjoy all aspects of the sport.”

The figure skating program at MAI will feature individualized training programs, access to world-class coaching expertise, and comprehensive support including nutrition, sports psychology, strength training, and dedicated medical care. Students will have opportunities to compete in various U.S. Figure Skating competitions, from local events to the National Qualifying Series, while also participating in high school competitions.

“Teamwork fosters skills of interdependence and the ability for a person to manage their own work while contributing to the bigger goal,” Enzmann noted. “This cooperation allows teams to function cooperatively in a timely manner—essential skills for both athletic and academic success.”
