A CAMPUS BUILT FOR AMBITION

Just 45 minutes west of Boston, our 82-acre Stow campus will feature state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor sports facilities. With 400,000 sq ft of multi-use buildings featuring classrooms, training venues, and residence halls – students will transition effortlessly from study to sports and back again.

Our facilities include:

THE ACADEMY’S
FOUR PILLARS

MAI’s four key pillars are the foundation for student development, providing a strong and enduring approach to navigating the challenges and opportunities that each day brings.

ACADEMICS

5 hours daily of high-impact, college-preparatory courses delivered through collaborative, cross-curricular, project-based learning.

SPORTS AND MAJORS

4 hours of daily training that includes: team practice, individual skill training, mental and physical conditioning, leadership, and nutrition classes.

LIFE SKILLS

Weekly themes such as trust, responsibility, resilience, and communication are woven into every class, practice, and learning experience - turning values into habits.

COLLEGE AND CAREER PREPARATION

Our structured college and career roadmap guides students at every step, ensuring each graduate departs MAI with real-world insight and a clear plan for their future.

OUR CURRICULUM

MAI’s curriculum is intentionally designed to meet each student's academic needs, with multiple pathways for students to participate and engage fully in their areas of interest.

The MAI curriculum is supported by The Newman School in Boston, a middle and high school with over 80 years of experience meeting the academic, social and athletic needs from the United States and across the globe. The Newman School, and its standing as a college preparatory independent school, ensures that MAI and our curriculum meets all standards and qualifications, including NCAA guidelines for college admissions.

The MAI curriculum, supported by Cognita's approach to academic excellence, will blend project-based work and cross-curricular learning. This will be delivered by a faculty who understand the rhythm, drive, and time demands of young athletes.

Students in 11th and 12th grades may also pursue independent studies to enhance their academic profile before graduation. Additionally, targeted support for language-based learning differences is built into the program.

“A game-changer for our athletes and our membership.”

– Phil Andrews, USA Fencing’s CEO

THE NEW HOME OF
USA FENCING

Launching in 2026, MAI will become the nation’s first dedicated National Training Center and National Academy for Fencing through a landmark partnership with USA Fencing.

This collaboration will provide students the opportunity to work with world-class coaches and train with the best athletes from around the country. In addition to our other incredible facilities such as sport-science labs, recovery suites, and on-site dorms, fencers at MAI will have access to dedicated, high-ceilinged fencing halls and the very best equipment.

Senior, Junior, Cadet, Paralympic, and Veteran national fencing teams will also benefit from this collaboration, holding camps each season on the MAI campus. When the teams are not on site, MAI will be open for regional clinics, referee seminars, and all-comers camps that any USA Fencing member can attend.

Together, this partnership will bring first-class coaching, a new talent pathway, and high-level competition to the New England and national fencing communities - ensuring that MAI students and US fencers as a whole have a clear route to success.
