Masters Academy International Breaks Ground on $25 Million Sports Pavilion
38,000-square-foot state of the art facility is scheduled to open in Fall 2027
STOW, Mass. — October 9, 2026 — Masters Academy International (MAI) today announced the groundbreaking of a new $25 million, 38,000-square-foot sports pavilion, marking the next major expansion of the school’s state-of-the-art campus in Stow.
Scheduled to open in fall 2027, the new pavilion will provide MAI student-athletes with a premier environment for training, competition, development and recovery while significantly expanding the school’s capacity to host games, tournaments and other athletic events.
The first phase of the project will feature two regulation high school basketball courts that can be configured to create a championship collegiate-size court. Beyond the competition courts, the pavilion will include dedicated locker rooms for MAI’s basketball, baseball, soccer and lacrosse programs, as well as visiting team locker rooms.
“This pavilion represents another major investment in our commitment to providing student-athletes with the resources, facilities and support they need to pursue excellence at the highest level,” said Peter Masters, Co-Founder of Masters Academy International. “From the beginning, our vision for MAI has been to build an environment where academics, athletics and personal development all receive the same level of attention. This facility is another important step in bringing that vision to life.”
The facility will also feature an athletic training room, coaching offices, a dedicated video and film room, concessions and other spaces designed to support the daily training and competition needs of MAI’s student-athletes and coaches.
The pavilion has been designed with future growth in mind. A planned second phase would add approximately 16,000 square feet and two additional courts, bringing the completed facility to approximately 54,000 square feet and four courts.
The groundbreaking comes as MAI continues to build out its athletic and academic model following the school’s inaugural opening in September 2026. MAI was created to offer student-athletes an environment that combines rigorous academics with elite-level athletic training and development without forcing students to compromise one for the other.
The new pavilion will serve as the home of MAI’s boys and girls basketball programs and provide both teams with a dedicated, state-of-the-art environment for training, development and competition. MAI’s boys basketball team is the only team in New England to compete nationally in the Nike EYBL Scholastic League
“Masters Academy International has demonstrated a commitment to excellence at every turn,” said John Carroll, Director of Basketball at Masters Academy International. “This facility is another example of MAI’s pursuit of greatness without compromise. The basketball program’s aspiration is to be the best program in the Nike EYBL Scholastic, in the country and the world. This facility provides MAI’s student-athletes a home that matches that ambition.”
“This pavilion is going to be a tremendous addition to our basketball program and to the experience we can provide our student-athletes,” said John Carroll, Director of Basketball at Masters Academy International. “It will give both our boys and girls programs a first-class home where our athletes can train, develop and compete every day. For our boys program, competing in the Nike EYBL Scholastic League means going up against some of the best programs and players in the country, and this facility will give our student-athletes an environment that matches the level of competition we expect them to face.”
Construction on the pavilion is expected to continue throughout the 2026–27 academic year, with the facility scheduled to welcome student-athletes for the fall 2027 semester.
