Daniel Boisvert
Co-Director of Golf
Daniel was born and raised in Central Massachusetts, he grew up playing baseball and soccer which eventually led to playing college baseball. After 2 years of college baseball he shifted his focus to golf and moved to Hilton Head SC. He began reading about golf, studying the swing, shadowing local coaches and taking his game from mid 80s to low 70s. After helping a few friends improve their games, Dan realized he loved helping people improve their golf.
After speaking with some of his mentors he decided the best move was to continue his education with a Golf Management degree. During his time in school he played, practiced, competed to improve and learn as a player. He then strived to be a coach by volunteering for the First Tee of Savannah, helped run IGJA tournaments and began spending time shadowing coaches at Hank Haney's academy at Pinecrest. He also spent time shadowing and learning from Michel Dion, Matt Cuccaro and Doug Weaver, all nationally ranked coaches from the area.
After almost 2 years down south Daniel took his PAT (Players ability test) which he passed on his first attempt at Coastal Carolina. The same weekend he passed, he also accepted a job in Dedham Ma working alongside the top ranked coach Bill McInerney Jr. At the time the program was growing into a full development academy. Over the next 3 years the program outgrew the facility which led them to the development of a new facility.
He then moved into a new role as director of instruction where he played an integral role in the development of the business. While there Daniel spent a lot of time working with the elite program and college level players. In his time outside of the academy he works with amateur golfers, college players and professional golfers and other pro athletes. He also runs group/ corporate clinics on both full swing & short game, offers full day training and on-course lessons.
After spending the last 10 years coaching full time Daniel has decided the time was right to branch out and start his own business PIN HIGH GOLF. His new space will specialize in golf performance by creating a very high end/functional indoor training space that allows him to touch on all areas of the game and keep many of the area's best players sharp throughout the entire year. During his time coaching he has used Trackman Golf products and will continue that partnership in his new space along with many of the other best technologies in golf training.
COACHING PHILOSOPHY
Teamwork for me is getting everyone involved on the same page working towards the same objective. It takes a village to develop an athlete from 12 years old to the college level. I believe it's critical that all parties are pushing the same message and supporting the athlete through the ups and downs of golf.
Success for me is having a student that leaves our school ready for the next chapter of life with great self belief, confidence they can overcome any objective, the discipline required to balance school and sport, and great attention to detail to help them continue to develop.
Our training sessions will be tailored to each student. However, we will all train mechanics, short game and competition in most of our opening practices. Mechanics will be where each golfer spends time working on their personalized drills and full swing goals. Short game will touch on all aspects inside 100 yards along with objectives each player must meet.
Competition time is where all our students will compete in a game or drill as a team or individually. We will also have on course training days, tournament preparation sessions, fitness sessions, mental training sessions and many others mixed into our weekly schedules to help create a well rounded golfer.
Competition against themselves or others will be a huge part of our academy. Creating a friendly competitive environment for the kids to learn and compete will be the best way to help all the kids prepare for tournament golf. We will have leader boards and other ways to track each players growth and new personal records along the journey.
