COACHING PHILOSOPHY
Teamwork is the foundation of every successful program. To me, it means players learning to trust, respect, and elevate one another understanding that collective success always outweighs individual accolades. A great team is built on shared accountability, communication, and the willingness to work for something bigger than oneself.
Success isn’t defined solely by wins or championships, but by growth, discipline, and character. On the field, it’s about competing with purpose and improving every day. Off the field, it’s developing habits, leadership, and maturity that prepare them for college, career, and life beyond the game.
Players can expect a professional, high-energy environment that challenges them technically, tactically, and mentally. Every session has a clear focus, game-realistic tempo, and an emphasis on decision-making. I believe in creating sessions that are competitive yet supportive, where players are encouraged to think, take risks, and play with confidence.
Competition is structured to mirror the college and professional environments our players aspire to. We compete in high level prep school league and select showcases locally and nationally , complemented by matches against strong regional and national opponents. The goal is consistent, meaningful competition that drives development and exposes players to the standards expected at the next level.
Our pathway is built on development, exposure, and progression. Players begin by mastering technical and tactical fundamentals, then transition into competitive regional and national play where college recruitment becomes a focus. Through mentorship, academic guidance, and consistent performance environments, our athletes are fully prepared to succeed at top college programs and beyond.
Middle School (Grades 6–8)
A dedicated staff coach will lead our Middle School program, working closely with me to design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Together, we’ll focus on building a strong technical foundation, fostering creativity, and instilling a love for the game. Training emphasizes enjoyment, teamwork, and confidence while introducing players to the habits and mindset needed for long-term growth within the Masters Academy pathway.
Upper School (Grades 9–12)
As athletes progress into high school, training becomes more tactical, position-specific, and physically demanding. We emphasize understanding the game at a deeper level—developing leaders who can think and adapt under pressure. While competition and performance become central, we also reinforce time management, accountability, and communication to ensure academic success and personal growth remain priorities alongside athletic excellence.
College Prep / Elite Athletes
For advanced players, our focus shifts to exposure, performance consistency, and professional preparation. We provide opportunities through elite showcases, college ID events, and national-level tournaments to connect players with college coaches and programs that fit their goals. Athletes receive individualized guidance through every step of the college recruitment and scholarship process, supported by mentorship, video analysis, and direct communication with college networks built over decades of experience.
“Our mission is simple to help every player reach their full potentional, on and off the field. We’re building a program that challenges atheletes to compete with passion, train with purpose, and lead with integrity.”
– James Proctor, Director of Men’s Soccer
COLLEGE PLACEMENT & PATHWAYS
Over the past two decades, my players have advanced to top collegiate soccer programs across all NCAA divisions, including University of Vermont, Providence, UMass Amherst, URI, Williams College, UCLA, Brown, Boston College, Bryant, Bowdoin, and Colgate, among many others. Several have gone on to national recognition — most notably Nash Barlow and TJ Liquori, 2024 NCAA Division I National Champions with the University of Vermont, and Abdel Talabi, a 2025 MAC Hermann Trophy Candidate at Bryant University.
At Masters Academy International, we will build upon that tradition through a structured college-prep environment that combines elite competition, academic accountability, and personalized recruitment support. Our program will provide players with exposure through showcases, ID events, and direct college coach relationships ensuring every athlete is prepared to succeed both in the classroom and at the next level of the game.
