COACHING PHILOSOPHY
Teamwork is putting team success ahead of individual goals. It’s trusting and respecting coaches and teammates, and holding themselves accountable. Teamwork consists of teammates willing to support one another through both successes and failures.
We define success for our program by player development, academic achievement, and fostering a strong team culture. We define success for our athletes on the field when they compete, give their best effort, and exhibit respect for our opponent and the umpires. When we respect the game of baseball and play the game the right way – hustling on and off the field. The program's mission extends beyond the playing field, emphasizing the growth of the student-athlete as a whole person including citizenship and service on our campus and in our community.
Fast paced skill driven intense workouts designed to challenge players to find game speed in practice. Practice is permanent, not perfect. The more uncomfortable you are willing to get, the more progress you will make.
Spring trip to FL for 7-10 days – with 7-8 games. 20-25 games in the fall, full winter training program in state of the art training facility with indoor batting cages, mounds, and a full diamond.
Physicality, mental approach, and game IQ? We envision entry level players to most likely (not definite) be grades 6-9? to help players adjust to playing on 90’ diamond and college/prep level to be grades 10-13.
“Our mission goes far beyond wins and losses – we’re developing young people who understand that respect for the game, hustling on and off the field, and being accountable to each other are what really matter.”
– Richard Gilbride, Director of Baseball Operations
