ACADEMICS

Built for the Whole Student

At Masters Academy International, academics aren’t squeezed between training sessions – they’re an integral part of what hones an elite performer. We’ve designed a curriculum that respects the demands of our athletes while never compromising on intellectual rigor. Each student undertakes five hours daily of challenging, engaging coursework that is grounded in inquiry, invites healthy disagreement and debate, and prioritizes quality over quantity.

MAI’s academic program seeks to preserve balance and well-being for our student-athletes, enabling them to develop not just knowledge, but the skills to thrive in a rapidly changing world. As a result, our students graduate MAI as critical thinkers, skilled communicators, and confident learners who are ready to excel in any arena.

Non-Playing Concentrations

For students whose passions lie adjacent to sport – in sports medicine, performance analytics, coaching, broadcasting, sports business, or entrepreneurship – MAI offers a structured pathway to mastery through our three-stage model:

img

Beginning

A seminar-style course where students reflect on interests, values, and talents, mapping these to real-world opportunities in their chosen field.
img

Discovery

Students explore themes through authentic opportunities - shadowing professionals, testing ideas, gaining insights, and refining direction through reflection and feedback.

Mastery

In their final years, students design personalized learning goals, engage in internships or research projects, and deliver a public capstone presentation to demonstrate their expertise.

Our core curriculum

At MAI, our student-athletes are trained to think on their feet through a dynamic and adaptive curriculum designed for the swiftly changing future.

Blending rigorous core courses with innovative, interdisciplinary modules and flexible pathways for advanced study, our curriculum enables students to gain both the strong foundations needed for college readiness, and the freedom to pursue individual interests. With dedicated time for reflection, feedback, and support built into every week, learning here is designed to be challenging, adaptable, and lasting.

A Day in MAI Academics

Our mock schedules show how this all comes together in practice:

Designing With AI in Mind

As a school opening in 2026, MAI is intentionally designed with AI integration from day one. We teach students to leverage AI ethically and effectively as an assistive tool–for research, feedback, and personalization–and as a way to improve their own capacities for novel thinking, creativity, and judgment.

When an MAI student interacts with AI, we ask that they follow the same rules of engagement that drive all our classrooms: lead with inquiry, ask good questions, and argue intelligently.

At Masters Academy International, AI doesn’t replace—it revitalizes our students’ learning, making for more effortful deliberation, deep engagement, and original ideas.

The Bottom Line

At MAI, academics aren’t an afterthought or a compromise. They’re central to who we are. We’ve designed a curriculum that respects the demands of elite athletics while refusing to lower the bar for intellectual rigor. Our students leave MAI as critical thinkers, skilled communicators, and confident learners – ready to excel in any arena.
